Around 900,000 people who have not yet had the opportunity to receive a free vaccination can now catch up. This catch-up programme is part of the healthcare reform and is accompanied by the expanded ‘Das beste Alter’ campaign, which is specifically aimed at people aged 30 and under.
Two doses of the vaccine, administered six to twelve months apart, are required for full protection. Anyone who receives their first dose shortly before their 30th birthday can also receive the second dose free of charge, even if they have since turned 30. Information on vaccination centres is available on the Ministry of Health’s website at impfen.gv.at.
