Respiratory medicine, also known as pulmonology, is the medical speciality concerned with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the lungs and the respiratory tract. Respiratory specialists are experts in a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia, lung cancer and tuberculosis.
